Painted vanity unit with three drawers
A freestanding vanity unit for a bathroom. Three deep drawers with brass handles, a hole in the top for the basin waste, and a box built into the middle of the top drawer so it slides past the pipe. I made it in moisture-resistant MDF, the green board in the build photos, then painted it a soft cream.

How it went together

Built in green board
Moisture-resistant MDF is the green board. It costs a bit more than normal MDF but it is the right thing for a bathroom.

A drawer that misses the pipe
The top drawer has a box in the middle, so the waste pipe from the basin drops straight through and the drawer still slides.

Hole for the waste
A hole through the top lines up with the basin waste and the gap in the drawer below. Then it was off to be painted.
